If you simply don't like the new XP look, then feel free to go back to
a windows 2000 style look.

 >Change the theme
- right-click on your desktop, select properties
- on the theme tab, click the drop-down list "theme" and select
  Windows Classic
- click ok

 >Change the Start Menu
You'll still be using XP style start menu, if you wish to change this as
well, right-click on a empty area on your taskbar and select properties.
click the start menu tab, and check classic start menu, click ok.
