REPAIR INTERNET EXPLORER IN WINDOWS XP

This applies to Windows XP or Windows XP SP1 only. Do not do this under SP2
as it will replace your IE6 SP2 with IE6 SP1.


To get the ability to reinstall IE6 you need to do the following:
- click start, run..
- type in regedit, click ok
- go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components
  \{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
- look at value labeled "IsInstalled"
- modify it and change the value to 0
- quit the registry editor
- download and install IE6 SP1
