SHOW FILE EXTENSIONS FOR ALL FILES

By default Windows XP will hide the file extension of known file types.
This can be a security hazard especially when it comes to script based
files. In order to make the extension visable:
- click tools, folder options..
- click view tab
- uncheck "hide extensions for known file types"
- click ok


If you'd like to use the registry, then do the following:
- click start, run.., regedit, click ok
- go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
  Advanced
- create or modify dword value named "HideFileExt", give it a value of 0
