AUTOPLAY WON'T WORK, SOME SOLUTIONS written by: paranoidxe email: paranoidtsi@hotmail.com [- ENSURE THAT SHELL HARDWARE DETECTION IS SET TO AUTOMATIC -] Open services by going to: - start, control panel (click classic view) - double-click adminstrative tools - double-click services - find shell hardware detection service - right-click it and select properties - change/verify startup type is set to automatic - click ok [-CHECK REGISTRY ENTRIES-] - open regedit (start, run.., regedit, click ok) - go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom - in the right pane, look at DWORD value "AutoRun" make sure it is set to 1 - now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\Winlogon\ - in the right pane, make sure dword value "allocatecdroms" is set to 0 - check HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies\Explorer - modify DWORD "NoDriveTypeAutoRun" to read 00000091 - finally check HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies\Explorer\ - modify or delete dword "NoSaveSettings", make sure the value is set to 0 Reboot your machine, Autorun should function again.
