REINSTALLING THE GUEST ACCOUNT written by: paranoidxe email: paranoidtsi@hotmail.com In certain situations the guest account can become corrupt, in which cause follow the steps below to recover functionality: - log on as a admin account - click start, control panel, user accounts - turn the guest feature off - now access computer management (start, control panel, classic view, adminstrative tools, computer management) - double-click local user and groups - highlight users folder - right-click guest account in the right pane, select delete, press yes to prompt - now go back to start, control panel, user accounts - turn guest feature back on - log off the admin account and log back on to guest When logging back onto guest it will take a few minutes for Windows XP to recreate the guest account on your machine. Log on screen should appear after a few seconds, in which case you can click Guest, and a new account should be created.
