               REMOVE ADD A PROGRAM FROM CD OR FLOPPY DISK
               OPTION FROM ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS

This can be done through the group policy editor in professional, which
can be run from clicking start, run, gpedit.msc, click ok. Go to 
User Configuration\Adminstrative Templates\Control Panel\Add\Remove
Programs, double-click "Hide the add a program from cdrom or floppy 
disk option", click enabled, click ok.

Alternatively for XP Home Edition you can do this through the registry:
- open the registry (start - run.. - regedit)
- go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Policies\Uninstall
- create new DWORD value named "NoAddFromCDorFloppy" give it the value
  of 1

The option will no longer appear from the add/remove programs option in
Control Panel.
