This is a new type of font smoothing technology for XP, it is mostly 
designed for LCD, but CRT monitor users can get benefits too.

To enable:
- click start (settings), control panel
- double-click display
- click appearance, click effects
- click use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts
- select ClearType from the list
