========================================================================= W I N D O W S X P ========================================================================= This is straight from the Microsoft Knowledge base [FAT32] - Clusters cannot be 64KB or larger, if clusters are bigger than 64K it may result in errors with programs calculating disk space. - The volume must contain a minimum of 65,527 clusters. - The Max disk size is about 8 terabytes. - You cannot decrease the cluster size of FAT32 so that the size of the FAT is larger than 16MB minus 64K. - XP Setup cannot create partitions larger than 32GB in setup, however a Windows 98SE/ME bootdisk format can. [FAT16] - Max partition of 4GB - FAT16 is limited to 64K Clusters - FAT16 partitions larger than 2GB are not accessible by previous Windows such as 95/98/ME.
