Yeah, its 1:30AM in the morning and I am bored as hell. Lets make it clear
that I hated this movie...so please excuse my lack of motivation to do this
FAQ. 

AS with all my movie FAQs, THERE ARE SPOILERS HEREIN SO PLEASE WATCH THE
MOVIE BEFORE YOU VIEW THIS FAQ! YOU WERE WARNED!







  [1. SO IS SAMARA GONE NOW?]
Well in theory since Rachel closed the well, she can no longer escape. Its
funny that the video however shows the well closed anyway, continuality
flaw? yeah I think so. 

Since they are doing a 3rd film (unfortunately) to further ruin the movies,
I'm sure they will find a way to get Samara out.



  [2. SO DO YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE TAPE TO BE CURSED?]
Yes, Emily covered her eyes and wasn't cursed so apparently you have to watch
it with your eyeballs in order to be cursed.



  [3. WHY DID SAMARA RETURN?]
In theory the method that Samara was using to communicate (the tape) was
severed when Emily failed to watch the video she just covered her eyes. 

This resulted in the death of the boy, and since Emily didn't understand
the concept of the curse, she was unable to pass it along. Rachel in her
own rage, decides to burn the tape.

Now as a alternative method, she decided to try to take over Aiden. This
is where the Ring Two story begins.



  [4. WHAT ARE SOME ERRORS IN THIS MOVIE?]
You can get more from imdb.com, but heres some I noticed:
  - When Rachel burns the tape at the beginning, she clearly pulls the
    film out..but when its thrown on the fire..the film is back into 
    the cassette!
  - When she climbs over the gate to get to the Morgan's house, the 
    scene after shows the gate wide open.
  - Rachel presses the power button to eject the tape the vcr
  - During the deer scene, the deer clearly break Rachel's window, the
    next scene you can clearly see Rachel's reflection on the window.
 


  [5. HOW DID AIDEN AND RACHEL SURVIVE THE CURSE IN THE FIRST ONE?]
They showed the tape to someone. In the alternative ending to The Ring,
Aiden and Rachel can be shown putting a copy in the local video rental
store. 



  [6. WHY DID SAMARA WANT A MOTHER?]
She wanted a mother that would love her. Ann Morgan loved her very much,
but Samara's extra powers were driving her mad and lead her to kill her.
Samara wanted Aidens place so she would be loved by Rachel.


  [7. IS THE UNRATED DVD BETTER THAN THE THEATER VERSION?]
In my opinion, yes. It will not change your overall view of the film, it
simply explains and extends some scenes more so that they make more sense
to the viewer. There is no RATED R content, the extended scenes are all
of a PG-13 sense.


  [8. WHY DID SAMARA HAVE A FEAR OF WATER?]
Its simple, it was the way she was killed when she was a child. She was
sufficated with a plastic bag and thrown into a well by her adoptive mother
Ann Morgan.
