QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE 2005 REMAKE OF THE 70'S CLASSIC AMITYVILLE HORROR,
THIS DOES TOUCH A LITTLE ON THE REAL AMITYVILLE HORROR CASE, BUT IT IS DESIGNED
TO ANSWER QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE 2005 MOVIE ONLY.





















    -[1. IS THIS MOVIE REALLY A TRUE STORY?]-

No, it should be put as "based on a true story" the only true story is that
in Nov. 1974 Ronald Jr. DeFeo shot and killed his father, mother, and 4 of
their children.

The rest of the story is *LOOSELY* based on the Lutzes experiences when they
moved into the house after the DeFeo Family murders.




    -[2. WHY WAS GEORGE IN THE BASEMENT ALL THE TIME?]-

This is where he was supposed to work, but he believed that this was the only
part of the house where he could keep warm. This was the evilness associated
with the house that drove him here.




    -[3. WHY DID KATHY GO TO GEORGE WHEN SHE KNEW HE WAS PSYCHO AT THIS POINT?]-

She loved him and was trying to convince him to leave the house, you don't
leave loved ones behind..its that simple. It might not have been the smartest
thing to do, but she cared for him.




    -[4. HOW DID SHE KNOW THAT DRAWING HIM AWAY FROM THE HOUSE WOULD FIX IT?]-

The fact that he acted fine outside of the house she must have drawn her
own conclusions about the house. Its also shown that when he went to the
doctor he told the doctor he felt fine.



    -[5. WHO WAS JOHN KETCHUM?]-

John Ketchum was a witch that was banished from MA and fleed to Amityville, NY
where he began doing witchcraft and believed to have killed and tortured 
Native Americans. The movie used this theory as part of the plot. The person
is real, but its unsure if he actually fled to Amityville, NY.



    -[6. WAS THERE REALLY A TORTURE CHAMBER IN THE BASEMENT?]-

No, this is another aspect made up in the movie. There was NEVER a torture
chamber in the house. This goes along with the John Ketchum theory.



    -[7. WHO WAS THE GUY IN BLACK WITH A BLACK HAT AT THE END?]-

John Ketchum, they were depecting that John Ketchum was the one responsible
for the evil inside the house.



    -[8. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE BABYSITTER?]-

We do not know all we know is she is taken away in a ambulence, nothing else
is told of her.


    -[9. WHO WAS HAUNTING THEM IN THE HOUSE?]-
Ketchum, Jodie, and the various killed indians are the ones haunting the house
in this version of the movie.


    -[10. WHY WAS CHELSEA ON THE ROOF OF THE HOUSE?]-
Jodi was telling her that she would take her to her father if she were to jump
off the building. She was being influenced by Jodi.


    -[11. WHO WAS JODIE?]-

Jodie was made up, she was supposedly killed in the shooting by Ronald Jr. 
DeFeo, the fact is there was no Jodie..all were killed in their bed and there
was no killing in a closet. This was simply part of Hollywood.


    -[12. WHAT WAS WITH THE REFERENCE TO 3:15AM ALL THE TIME?]-

This is the ESTIMATED time that Ronald Jr. DeFeo shot and killed his entire
family. The movie depects that the posession or changing of George was the
strongest at this time.


    -[13. WHO WAS THE FIGURE WALKING IN THE DARK TOWARDS THE END
          OF THE MOVIE?]-
It was believed to be Ketchum walking around.

                 DOES THE MOVIE STAY CLOSE TO THE TRUE STORY?

No, in fact this movie should NOT be viewed as a documentary to the true
events nor should it be considered even close..here are some of the things
wrong with the story:
- Ronald Jr. DeFeo was NOT a clean cut college graduate, in fact he was
  known to have problems with his father and family..as well as a drug
  problem.
- "Jodie" DeFeo never existed
- No DeFeo body was ever found in a closet, they were all killed in their
  bed..apparently asleep.
- The priest was never a stranger, in fact was known by George.
- The house was NOT out in the middle of nowhere, in fact it was in a 
  little community.
- George never felt better when he was away from the house, well as much
  as the movie made it out to be.
- George was never attacked in the bath
- The underground torture section of the house that George finds at the
  end of the movie NEVER happened.
- George was not in the basement most of his stay in the real house
- The house design was WRONG
- No mention of the marching band noises that George Lutz heard
- The mysterious "pig" entity that Kathy's daughter talked to was not
  mentioned, in fact was replaced by a girl seemingly.
- George didn't attack his step son with an ax, nor did he force him to
  hold the wood while he chops it.

Those are just some of the examples..if you want to look at the true story,
or close to true story then there are plenty of sources on the internet if
you'd like to study the true case.
